What is the difference between NAVTEQ NAVSTREETS™
 Premium, Standard and Base?

Base is used for simple map display. Standard includes addition field attributes for geocoding purposes. Premium includes street network connectivity and additional field attributes for routing. See Comparison page for full details.

What GIS formats are available?

Typically, NAVmart provides three formats; ESRI.shp, MapInfo.tab and Oracle Spatial 11G. However, we are able to provide numerous other formats. Contact us to discuss your requirements.

How do I report an error?

NAVTEQ's Map Reporter, a web-based feedback system, allows customers to quickly and easily report discrepancies, errors or omissions in the NAVTEQ data.

Where does NAVTEQ get their information?

NAVTEQ begins with large scale sources, like high resolution digital imagery. Then NAVTEQ field staff gathers information on road classifications, planned roads from multiple local and regional sources, checks data quality and then validates database information.

NAVTEQ's field data collection is made up of more than 700 people located in more than 168 field offices around the world. NAVTEQ personnel drives millions of miles annually, capturing more than 200 attributes per street segment through direct observation.

What is the Points of Interest ("POI") layer?

Points of Interest are point records of organizations and facilities that add detail about the local area. The points generally fall into the following categories: business/retail, civic and education facilities and tourist attractions. Detailed listing >>

What is the difference between NAVTEQ Traffic and Traffic Patterns?

Traffic is real-time streaming data (Alert C format) about traffic conditions on major road networks. Traffic includes traffic flow speeds, planned incidents such as road closures, and unplanned incidents such as accidents.

Traffic Patterns is average historical speed on major roads by one hour increments. Data is available for Monday through Thursday, Friday, and Saturday/Sunday periods.

Both are tabular data that requires NAVSTREETS geometries for mapping purposes.

Is NAVSTREETS available worldwide?

NAVSTREETS is available in North America and most of Europe. NAVTEQ's Entry Maps product is available for most other countries. NAVTEQ continually works to expand its NAVSTREETS coverage throughout the world. Contact NAVmart to verify data availability for your area of interest.
